THANDEKILE JESSICA NHLEKO

Thandekile Jessica Nhleko has worked in different roles in the hotel industry as an International Hotel School Graduate in Hotel Management.

Throughout her career life in small boutiques and five star hotels, after her roles in operations she worked in sales and marketing in Hotel Groups such as then Three Cities and Signature Life Hotels covering the regional and national sales with specific target market focus.

Her award winning roles in Sales included developing and increasing new businesses by acquiring customers, developing and maintaining a database of commercial, retail, travel and organisational contracts so as to ensure maximum sales. Being a driven results individual in sales and marketing led her to venturing into hospitality as a business.

Her dreams of breaking into the hospitality and tourism sector materialised when she registered the Amandla Nobubele CC trading as ANB GROUP in 2009 where she is the founding director. ANB group a 100% black women-owned enterprise specializing in hospitality and tourism, events management, activations related to tourism, venue sourcing, brand design and public relations consulting.

Citing from her 18 years of experience in the industry she founded Project ENZA, a non-profit organisation which aims to positively impact youth, women and educators in tourism and hospitality through industry exposure mentorship. As an education advocate, their focus is “Preserving Excellence in Tourism through Education and Exposure “. She believes with relevant support and information-sharing, ample opportunity exists for all in South Africa.

She is alumni under the International Visitors Leadership Program for Tourism and Economic Development powered by US Consulate Durban, being amongst fifthteen delegates from other countries and represented South Africa in May 2016 for three weeks visiting five States in America.

She has been chairperson of the advisory board at Durban University of Technology in Public Relations and contributes to the Hospitality and Tourism Advisory Board.

Her greatest strength lies in her ability to connect with all kinds of people and ensuring every interaction is one that can in some way make this world a better place.

Nhleko has spoken in various events impacting our communities, youth and women at times as a key note speaker.

She has an innate passion for travel and adventure which she believes makes life all the more exciting and most importantly impacts your general outlook in life.
